Getting Started

Download AtlasFiles for macOS, launch the app, and select the folders you want to index.

Common Questions

How do I index a new folder?

Open AtlasFiles → Click the "+" button in the sidebar → Select a folder → Indexing begins automatically in the background.

Can I search cloud files (OneDrive, iCloud)?

Yes. Go to Settings → Cloud Sync, authorize the service, and add cloud folders to your index. We only read metadata—files are never downloaded.

How much disk space does AtlasFiles use?

The metadata database is typically 1–5 MB for every 10,000 files. Your actual files are not copied.

Is my data encrypted?

AtlasFiles runs entirely locally. Your OS encrypts the database at rest (FileVault on macOS, BitLocker on Windows). No cloud backup or sync unless you explicitly enable cloud folder indexing.
