Privacy Policy
Short version: Your files, filenames, folder paths, search history, and local index stay on your device and are never sent anywhere. AtlasFiles contacts our servers only to manage your account, subscription, and device pairing — nothing about your files is involved.
1. Who we are
AtlasFiles is a desktop application for macOS and Windows published by Bharath Gedela. You can reach us at support@atlasfiles.in.
2. What stays on your device
The following data is created and stored entirely on your machine. It is never transmitted to any server:
- Filenames and folder paths
- File metadata (size, type, dates)
- File thumbnails and previews
- The local SQLite index database
- Scan configuration and folder selections
- Search history and recent queries
- Any future duplicate-analysis results or local ML model outputs
3. What the subscription service stores
An account is required only to purchase, recover, or manage a subscription. When you create an account and subscribe, the following data is stored in our backend (Supabase, hosted on AWS):
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Account identity, billing receipts, magic-link sign-in |
| Display name and avatar URL | From Google OAuth if you use Google sign-in; used in the account portal |
| Razorpay customer and subscription IDs | To link your account to your Razorpay billing record |
| Subscription status and billing dates | To determine whether paid access should be granted |
| Random AtlasFiles device ID | To track which device is activated under your subscription (limit: 1) |
| Device platform and app version | Shown to you in Account > Devices so you can identify and remove devices |
| Device created date and last-seen timestamp | To display activity information in the account portal |
| Hashed device refresh token | To securely exchange tokens without storing the token itself |
| Webhook event IDs | Idempotency — to avoid processing the same Razorpay event twice |
None of the above data includes filenames, folder paths, or any information about the contents of your file index.
4. Network calls the app makes
The AtlasFiles desktop application makes HTTPS calls only to atlasfiles.in and only for the following purposes:
- Device pairing: to link a new device to your subscription after you sign in
- Entitlement refresh: a silent check every 24 hours while the app is running to confirm your subscription is still active
No file data, no search queries, and no index contents are included in any of these calls.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Card numbers and bank details are entered on Razorpay's hosted checkout and are never seen by AtlasFiles servers. We receive only billing status and subscription state from Razorpay webhooks.
6. Subprocessors
| Vendor | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and database | Account, subscription, and device records |
| Razorpay | Payment processing | Billing amounts, subscription status |
| Netlify | Website hosting and serverless functions | Request logs (standard web server logs) |
| OAuth sign-in (optional) | Email, display name, avatar URL — only if you choose Google sign-in |
7. No telemetry, no analytics
AtlasFiles does not use analytics services, crash reporters, or feature-usage tracking of any kind. We do not use cookies on the marketing website for tracking purposes.
8. Data retention and deletion
If you cancel your subscription, your account data is retained for 90 days in case you wish to resubscribe, then deleted. You can request immediate deletion from Account > Security > Delete account or by emailing support@atlasfiles.in. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Razorpay retains payment records per their own legal obligations.
9. Children
AtlasFiles is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email. Continued use of AtlasFiles after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
